Retail - Retail Products

Retail Products give you a dedicated catalog for retail items — drinks, snacks, packaged goods, and other grab-and-go products — kept completely separate from your dining menu. Each store can hold up to 30,000 retail SKUs, counted separately from your 2,000 dining-item limit. The feature is free to use and is designed for delis, restaurants with a retail area, and food-focused convenience stores.

Viewing Your Retail Products

Navigate to Store Portal > Retail > Retail Products to see your full catalog. Each product displays its Name, SKU/Barcode, Price, Status, Category, Tax, and Inventory.

On this page you can:

  • Search by product name or SKU/Barcode.

  • Filter by status or category (you can select multiple; the default is All).

  • Sort by any column.

  • Use the Actions menu on each row to edit a product, mark it sold out, delete it, or view its log.

A counter below the page title shows how many products you've added (for example, 1,250 / 30,000). When you reach 30,000 you can still view, edit, and delete products, but adding new ones is disabled until you free up space.

Adding Products

You can add retail products two ways: import many at once from an Excel file, or add them one at a time.

Bulk Import from Excel

Use bulk import to add a large number of products at once. Navigate to Store Portal > Retail > Bulk Import, then:

  1. Download the template. Click Download Template to get a spreadsheet with all the product fields, both required and optional.

  2. Upload your file. Upload your completed Excel file and click Start Analysis.

  3. Review the results. The system checks your file and shows a preview:

    • Total — all rows in your file.

    • Success — products that are ready to import.

    • Existing — duplicates (same SKU + name) that will be skipped.

    • Failed — rows with errors. Download the Error Report to see the reason for each, fix them, and re-upload.

  4. Confirm the import. Click Confirm Import to save. You can import the successful rows even if some rows failed. To add another batch, click Import More Products.

Imported products go into your Retail Menu. Categories are matched by name — if a category already exists, items join it; if not, a new one is created. If your successful count plus your current catalog would go over 30,000, the import is blocked and the button shows how many slots remain.

Adding a Product Manually

On the Retail Products page, click Add Product. Fill in the required fields in the panel that opens, then click Save Changes. You'll see an "Update Successfully!" confirmation.

If your store is already at the 30,000-product limit, the Add Product button is disabled.

Managing Product Status

Retail products use the same statuses as your dining items. There are three ways to update them:

  • Update one product: open the product, choose a status from the dropdown, and click Save.

  • Update in bulk: select multiple products, then click Bulk Activate or Bulk Deactivate in the toolbar.

  • Mark sold out: use Sold Out to set an item out of stock, or Resume to make it available again.

How Retail Items Print

Retail products don't have print settings of their own. They appear on the customer receipt, refund receipt, and check, but are never sent to kitchen tickets, KDS, or label printers — even if your print scope is set to "All."
