In this article, you will learn how to use Multi-Select on the POS to work with several items in the cart at once: hold or send only part of an order, void several items in one step, apply an item discount to multiple items, and move items to another seat. Multi-Select is available in both Table Service and Quick Service.
Note:
[Hold] saves the selected items on the order without sending them to the kitchen. [Send] saves them and sends them to the kitchen.
A combo is selected as a whole. Items inside a combo cannot be held, sent, voided or discounted separately.
Items that have already been voided cannot be selected.
Coursing and Delayed Send are not available while Multi-Select is on.

Enter and Exit Multi-Select
Once there are items in the cart, click [Select] in the toolbar.
Tap the items you want to work with. Selected items are highlighted; tap an item again to deselect it. While Multi-Select is on, the [−] button becomes [-/Void], and Modifier, Notes, Search and Back are unavailable.
Click [Select] again to exit. Multi-Select also turns off automatically after you Hold, Send, Print Check, Pay, Split or Combine the order, Change Table, or open Order History.
Hold or Send Selected Items
Select the items, then click [Hold] or [Send]:
[Send] sends the selected items to the kitchen. Any other items that have not been sent yet are placed on hold.
[Hold] places the selected items on hold. Any other items that have not been sent yet are sent to the kitchen.
A message confirms the result, for example "2 items sent, 2 items placed on hold".
When you reopen the order, sent items are shown in yellow with the time they were sent, and held items are shown in pink.
Items that have already been sent cannot be held or sent again. If only sent items are selected, [Hold] and [Send] are greyed out.
Void Selected Items
Select the items, then click [-/Void].
Items that have not been sent to the kitchen yet are removed from the cart right away.
Items on hold or already sent need to be confirmed: "Are you sure to void these X items?". Enter the PIN and the void reason if your store requires them.
If you select all the sent items on the order, the whole order is voided.
Only whole items can be voided this way; add-ons cannot be voided on their own. Items that were voided before being sent do not appear in the Void Report.
Apply an Item Discount to Several Items
Select the items, click [Discount] - [Item Discount] and choose a discount. The discount is applied to every selected item.
Items with a price of $0 are skipped. A discount can be larger than the item price.
Move Items to Another Seat (Table Service)
In the seat view, select the items and click [Change Seat], then choose Share or a seat number.
The selected items move to that seat.
