Settings - POS Discount Option

In this article, you will learn how to configure POS discount option.

Go to Store Portal > Settings > Order Settings > POS Discount Option.

The list shows each discount's Name, Discount Type, and Auto-Apply Time. Click Add to create a discount, or select an existing one to edit it.

Creating a Discount

Click [+ Discount] and set:

  • Name — what the discount is called.

  • Discount Type — a percentage (e.g., 10%) or a fixed amount (e.g., $5.00).

  • Require Manager Permission (optional) — check this if only employees with permission should be able to apply it. More on employee permissions >>>

  • Auto-Apply Time — when it applies automatically (see below).

  • Auto-Apply Items — which items it applies to (see below).

Click [Save] to make the discount available on your POS.

Auto-Apply Time

This controls when a discount applies automatically. Choose one:

  • Manual Only — never applied automatically; staff apply it by hand. (All existing discounts start as Manual Only.)

  • All Time — applies automatically at any time.

  • Custom Time — applies automatically only on the days and hours you set.

For Custom Time, you set:

  • Days — choose any days of the week (all selected by default).

  • Hours — add one or more time ranges. Ranges use 1-minute increments, and the latest end time is 12:00 AM (End of day). A range can't cross midnight — the end time must be later than the start on the same day, so for overnight hours, create a separate range per day.

Auto-Apply Items

This controls which items an automatic discount applies to:

  • All Items — your entire menu.

  • Custom — choose specific items. For each category, either Customize (pick individual items) or select All & Future (all current items, plus any you add to that category later).

Important Notes:

  • Combos and not-for-sale (gift) items can't use Item Discounts.

  • Retail items aren't included in automatic discounts, but cashiers can still apply an Item Discount to them manually.

  • Mobile POS (MPOS) can apply automatic discounts, but adding and editing discounts is only available on the main POS.

  • Offline: automatic discounts still work using the last synced settings. You can't create or edit discounts while offline; the POS syncs the latest settings once it's back online.

POS Discount Reason

You can turn this feature on to require staff to input reasons whenever they are applying POS Discounts.
