You can take a reservation on the tablet for a guest who calls or walks in, collect a deposit at the same time, and have the table held for them. This article walks through the three steps of booking.
📖 Tutorial
Start a booking in one of two ways:
From the reservation panel | Tap [Add Reservation] and pick the date, party size and table type yourself. |
From the timeline | Tap an empty slot on the table you want. The date, table type and time are filled in for you. |
Either way the booking window opens with the table in its title, for example Book reservation for Table A1, and three steps across the top: 1. Check Resources, 2. Guest Info, 3. Deposit.
Step 1 — Check Resources
Party Size | Tap a number from 1 to 10, or one of the larger sizes. Tap [+] to type any other number. |
Available Time Slots | The times still open on the selected business day, grouped under the schedule that covers them, for example Dinner Service. |
Table Turnover Time | How long the table is held for this party — 1 hr through 6 hr, or Custom for any other length. |
Tap [Next] to continue. Peblla Table checks the table before letting you go on, and asks you to confirm if the party is larger than the table seats, if the slot has already reached its booking limit, or if the booking would overlap the next reservation on that table. You can confirm and keep going. If nothing is free at all, you will see "There is no available tables for selected time." — go back and try another time or table type.
Step 2 — Guest Info
Use [Search existing guests...] to look the guest up by name, the last four digits of their phone number, or their email. The search covers your store’s guests and your group’s members, and picking someone fills in their contact details.
For a new guest, fill in the fields directly — First name and Phone are required, Last name and Email are optional. A guest record is created for them automatically.
Add anything the kitchen or the floor should know for this visit under Visit Note, such as a window table or a dietary need. The Reservation Summary on the right shows what you have booked so far, including the deposit for this table type.
Step 3 — Deposit
Waive payment | Book the table without taking a deposit. Requires manager PIN verification. The reservation is created as Expected, so the table is yours right away. |
Pay by text | Sends the guest a payment link by SMS. |
Pay by email | Sends the guest a payment link by email. |
For Pay by text and Pay by email, set a Hold Time — 2 hours by default, and anywhere from 2 to 24 hours. The reservation is created as Pending and the table is held while you wait for the guest to pay. Once they pay it becomes Upcoming. If the hold time runs out first, the reservation is cancelled and the table goes back into availability.
If the guest has no email address or phone number on file, you will be asked to add one before a link can be sent.
When the table type’s policy does not ask for a deposit, none of the three options can be selected and the summary simply shows Deposit Free.
Tap [Confirm Reservation] to finish. The new reservation appears on the timeline and in the reservation panel.
