Some items are priced by weight rather than by the piece. When you weigh one of these items at the POS, the container it sits in is weighed too, so the POS subtracts the container's tare weight and charges the customer only for what is actually inside.
Before you start:
Connect your scale to the POS - see POS Setting - Scale Settings.
Create the containers you weigh items in under Store Portal > Menu > Item Template > Tare Container - see Menu - Item Template.
Set the item format to Weighting and pick its Default Container - see Menu - Add New Items.

Ring Up an Item by Weight
On the POS menu, items sold by weight are marked with a green By Weight tag. Tap the item to open the [Net Weight] pop-up.
If the item has more than one size, select the size under [Size] first.
Place the item together with its container on the scale.
Under [Containers], select the container you are using. Each card shows the container name and its tare weight, for example Small Cup 0.5 oz. If the item has a default container, it is already selected for you.
The net weight is shown in large type at the top of the pop-up, and the [Subtotal] updates as the weight changes. Tap [Confirm] to add the item to the order.
Note: If you do not select any container, the item is charged on the full weight read by the scale.
Use More Than One Container
A selected container card shows a [+] in the top-right corner and a [-] in the top-left corner. Tap [+] to add another one of the same container, and tap [-] to remove one. Reducing the count to zero deselects the container.
The containers you have selected are listed at the top of the pop-up, for example Small Cup × 1 and Large Cup × 1. Their tare weights are added together and deducted from the scale reading.
Enter the Weight Manually
If the scale is not connected, the pop-up shows "Scale is disconnected. Please check the connection and try again." You can still ring the item up by entering the weight yourself.
Tap [Manually Enter], type the weight on the keypad, and tap [Confirm].
Important: Enter the total weight including the container, exactly as you would read it off the scale. The POS still deducts the tare weight of the containers you selected. For example, with Small Cup (0.5 oz) selected, entering 8.50 gives a net weight of 8.00 oz.
After you confirm, tap [Modify Weight] to enter a different weight, or [Automated Scale] to go back to reading the weight from the scale.
On the Order
The item appears on the order with its net weight and price, for example Frozen Yogurt 8.00oz $15.92. Items whose weight was entered by hand are labelled Manually Adjust.
