POS Setting - Scale Settings

How to connect an electronic scale to your POS.

Connect an electronic scale to your POS so that items sold by weight can be rung up directly from the scale reading. This article shows you how to add a scale, manage the scale that is already connected, and what to do when the connection fails.

Before you start: Make sure the scale is powered on and connected to your POS device. To set up the items you sell by weight and the containers you weigh them in, see Menu - Add New Items and Menu - Item Template.

📖 Tutorial

Add a Scale

Navigate to Settings > Scale Settings.

Tap [Add Scale].

In the [Scale Manufacturer] pop-up, select the brand of your scale: Brecknell, Aclas, or CAS. Make sure the scale is plugged in and then the POS will tries to connect to the scale.

Once the scale is connected, the page shows the scale you selected and its connection status.

Note: Each POS device can be connected to one scale at a time.

Manage the Connected Scale

On the [Scale Settings] page you can:

  • [Change Scale] - select a different manufacturer. The new scale replaces the one that is currently set up.

  • [Test] - check that the POS is reading the scale correctly. This is available when the scale is connected.

  • [Connect] - reconnect the scale. This appears when the scale is disconnected.

If the Connection Fails

If the POS cannot reach the scale, a [Scale Connection Failed] message appears: "Unable to connect to the scale. Please check the scale connection and make sure the selected manufacturer is correct."

Check that the scale is powered on, that the cable is properly connected, and that you selected the correct manufacturer. Then tap [Try Again], or tap [Cancel] to go back.

If the scale still does not connect, please contact Peblla Support.

Once your scale is connected, see How to Sell Items by Weight (Tare Weight) to learn how to weigh items and deduct container tare weight at the POS.
