Integration - Menu Synchronization FAQ

This article answers common questions about managing and syncing your third-party menus from Peblla, using Peblla-managed menu integration. For step-by-step setup, see How to Set Up Third-Party Integration.

Getting Started & Switching

What does Peblla-managed menu integration do?

Instead of maintaining a separate menu on each delivery platform, you build one menu in Peblla and push it to DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats. Your items, prices, and availability stay consistent everywhere, and updates are handled from one place.

What's the difference between "No Menu Integration" and "Peblla-managed"?

  • No Menu Integration (default) — nothing changes from how things work today. You maintain menus on each platform separately; Peblla only receives and prints the orders, and matches items to printers using Smart Mapping.

  • Peblla-managed — you manage your third-party menus in Peblla and sync them to the platforms. Item details and sold-out status update automatically.

How do I switch between the two?

Go to Store Portal > Integration > 3rd Party Config and use the Menu Management card. Before switching, make sure there are no open (incomplete) orders on DoorDash or Grubhub — the system will block the switch until they're finished. You'll be asked to confirm, since switching signs you out of those platforms.

Why do I have to log back into DoorDash and Grubhub after switching?

Switching strategies changes the connection type DoorDash and Grubhub use, so both need to be re-authorized. Uber Eats is not affected and doesn't require logging back in.

Can I switch back to No Menu Integration later?

Yes. Switch the strategy back on the Menu Management card and confirm. DoorDash and Grubhub will log out (and need re-login), but any printer configuration and items you had under No Menu Integration are preserved.

Is menu integration available for multi-location enterprise menu?

Not at this time. Enterprise menu is synced on an individual store-level.

Why is Grubhub taking so long to connect?

Grubhub reviews new connections manually, about once a week, so approval can take up to 7 business days. It's best to start the Grubhub setup early. (DoorDash and Uber Eats connect much faster.)

Managing Your Menu

How many menus can I sync to third parties?

One menu per store. You can select multiple Peblla menus when configuring, but they're combined into a single menu before being pushed to the platforms.

Can I make an item available on only one platform (for example, only DoorDash but not for UberEats)?

No. Your menu syncs in full to all connected platforms at once, so an item is either available on all of them or none. You can't publish an item to just one platform.

Can I still edit my menu directly on a platform's own portal?

It depends on the platform:

  • DoorDash — allowed.

  • Uber Eats — allowed by request (not allowed by default).

  • Grubhub — not allowed.

Keep in mind that once you're on Peblla-managed, any change you make in a platform's own portal will be overwritten the next time Peblla publishes your menu. For DoorDash, you'll see a banner reminding you of this. To avoid surprises, manage everything in Peblla.

Do combos sync to third parties?

No. Only Standard items sync. Combos and other special item types are automatically filtered out and not sent to the platforms. When you save a menu that contains a combo, you'll be reminded that it won't be synced.

Does tax sync to the platforms?

No. Tax is not sent to the third-party platforms — each platform applies its own tax handling.

Pricing

Can I charge different prices on third-party platforms?

Yes. Use Price Adjustments to mark up the prices you send to the platforms — a common way to offset delivery commissions. You can set a percentage or fixed markup, configure items and add-ons separately, and apply different rules per platform. Availability is still all-or-nothing across platforms, but pricing can differ.

Syncing

When does my menu sync automatically?

Under Peblla-managed, your full menu syncs automatically:

  • Right after you select and save your menu

  • When you log into a third-party platform

  • At the end of each business day

  • Whenever an item or add-on is marked Sold Out / Out of Stock or set back to Available

You can also sync manually anytime from the backend.

Do I need to be logged into a platform for my menu to sync?

No. Your menu syncs to Peblla first, and Peblla pushes it to the platforms — so a sync starts as soon as you save your menu selection or click Sync, even before you've logged into a specific platform.

I marked an item sold out, but it didn't update on the platform. Why?

Automatic sold-out and back-in-stock updates only apply to items the platforms already have. If an item is brand new and hasn't been pushed yet, run a full sync first so the platforms have the item — after that, its availability will update automatically.

What happens if my menu is empty?

You can't log in or sync with an empty menu. You'll be prompted to refresh and configure a menu before you can continue.

Orders, Inventory & Printing

How does inventory work with third-party orders?

When a third-party order comes in, Peblla reduces the item's inventory accordingly. If stock is already lower than the ordered quantity, the order is still allowed — inventory goes negative and the item is marked sold out.

How does printing work under Peblla-managed?

Because your items are managed in Peblla, third-party order tickets follow the same printer configuration you use in-store — there's no separate third-party printer setup to maintain. (The 3rd Party Menu and Printer Config menus are hidden while Peblla-managed is on.)

Can I print modifier/add-on groups, or print tickets after auto-accept?

Under Peblla-managed, these aren't configurable yet — by default, add-on group names aren't printed, and tickets aren't printed after a third-party order is auto-accepted and synced to the POS. If you need them on, there's a workaround: enable those printer options under No Menu Integration first, then switch to Peblla-managed. This is planned to become directly configurable in a future update.
