Tip Pooling Interval

First, decide how you want the tip pool to be settled. The settlement interval applies to all tip pools:

Full Workday – Tips are shared among all employees who worked that day.

Shift – Tips are shared based on service period (e.g., Lunch, Dinner).

Define Tip Allocation

1. Allocate by Hours Worked

  • Tips are distributed based on hours clocked in via POS

  • Time is rounded to the nearest 0.1 hour

2. Allocate by Percentage

  • Assign a percentage to each job (each job can only be added once)

  • Total must not exceed 100%

  • If the total is less than 100%, the remaining amount is recorded as Unallocated Funds

3. Allocate by Points

  • Uses clocked-in hours and a weight per job role

  • Time is rounded to the nearest 0.1 hour

Once saved, your tip pool settings apply to current and past data—unless a previous pay period has already been approved.
