How Will Gross Sales and Net Sales Be Calculated?
🚀 Gross Sales Calculation
Gross Sales = Subtotal + Service Charges to Merchant + In-House Delivery Fee
This includes all revenue from food, beverages, and other services before removing any discounts, refunds, taxes, or gratuities.
✅ Includes:
All item sales (food, drinks, merchandise, etc.)
Service charges or auto-gratuity owned by the store (if applicable)
Other charges (e.g. bag fee)
Delivery fee (if delivered by in-house team)
❌ Excludes:
Promotion & Points
Refunds
Sales tax
Gratuity/tips
White-label delivery delivery fee and dasher tip
📉 Net Sales Calculation
Net Sales = Gross Sales – Promotion – Points – Sales Refunds
Net Sales represent the actual revenue earned by the business, excluding sales that were discounted, refunded, or comped, but still before tax and gratuity deductions.
✅ Includes:
All revenue after applying reward points deductions, promotions, and sales refunds
Service charges or auto-gratuity owned by the store (if applicable)
Other charges (e.g. bag fee)
Delivery fee (if delivered by in-house team)
❌ Excludes:
Sales tax
Gratuity/tips
White-label delivery delivery fee and dasher tip
📊 Average Order Size Formula
AOS = Net Sales ÷ Total Orders
