Q&A - Network Printer Hatch Unable to Open or Close
Updated over a week ago

Possible Problem Causes:

  1. (Relatively common) As the network printer for kitchen use comes with a built-in cutter for cutting paper, if the【 cutter is not fully retracted】, it could jam the hatch leading to the inability to open the paper bay.

  2. If the paper bay switch is offset, it would not trigger the real switch (If switch is loose/not springing back)

Picture Illustrated Solutions:

  1. If the cutter hasn't fully retracted and locked the hatch, through observing the gap of the paper bay, if you can see the cutter hasn't fully retracted, this likely leads to the inability to open paper bay.

Method one:Switch the device off and on again, which could help retract and reset the cutter to its place. If after trying to switch off→switch on again, and the cutter still won’t move back to its place, please follow Method Two below for operation.

Method Two:

①Help operate the knob roller of the printer cutting blade manually back to its base position. If helpful, leverage Slender piece-assisted tools like iron piece/key present, 【 Open printer top case】 (Dissimilarities were noted opening the outer-layer of printers of diverse models, directional picture-based tutorial go as illustrated.)

②After the casing is opened, one visible will be the Turbo-Gears hands swathed inward the machine. Lever-switch until aperture sustained in manageable handled control

③Keep hand-volup steadily by now-filling continuation simultaneously until the blade displaces found drawn results.
